Privacy Policy - Do Git Work
Privacy policy for Do Git Work iOS app. No data collection, no tracking.
Effective date: April 14, 2026
Do Git Work does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data stays on your device and within Apple’s iCloud infrastructure.
Overview
Do Git Work (“the App”) is a GitHub contributions tracker for iOS, developed by ZAAI. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
Data the App Accesses
The App accesses the following information:
- GitHub username - entered by you in the App’s settings. This is used solely to fetch your public contribution data from GitHub.
- Public contribution data - the App reads your public GitHub contribution graph (the same data visible to anyone on your GitHub profile page). This includes daily contribution counts and intensity levels.
- Timezone offset - extracted from your public GitHub profile page to accurately align contribution dates.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is cached locally on your device to power the App’s dashboard and widgets:
- Your GitHub username
- Cached contribution data (dates, counts, intensity levels)
- Your preferred refresh interval
- Your GitHub profile’s timezone offset
- A timestamp of the last data refresh
This data is stored in the App Group container (group.com.zaai.dogitwork) so that iOS widgets can display your contribution stats.
iCloud Sync
The App uses Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store to sync your settings (GitHub username and refresh interval) across your Apple devices. This data is stored and transmitted exclusively through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. ZAAI does not operate any servers and has no access to your iCloud data.
Data NOT Collected
The App does not collect, use, or share any of the following:
- Analytics or usage tracking
- Advertising identifiers
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Crash reports (beyond what Apple provides via App Store Connect)
- Any form of personal information beyond what you explicitly enter
Third-Party Services
The App makes HTTPS requests to github.com to fetch publicly available HTML pages. No third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, advertising libraries, or external services are integrated into the App.
Children’s Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not require account creation and does not collect any data beyond a publicly visible GitHub username.
Data Deletion
You can delete all data stored by the App at any time by:
- Removing your GitHub username in the App’s settings
- Deleting the App from your device (this removes all locally cached data)
- Removing the App’s iCloud data via Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Storage
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App’s release notes.
