Privacy Policy - Clean Google Maps

Clean Google Maps does not collect, sell, or share personal data. It has no developer-operated servers, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or user accounts.

Overview

Clean Google Maps (“the Extension”) redraws place markers on Google Maps in your browser. This policy explains which settings and permissions it uses and how you can remove its data.

Settings Stored by the Extension

The Extension stores only two preferences:

• Your selected marker style
• Your selected icon size

These preferences are stored with chrome.storage.sync so Chrome can make them available in other Chrome browsers where you are signed in and have sync enabled. This storage and synchronization use Google’s Chrome infrastructure. ZAAI does not operate a server for these settings and cannot access them.

Permissions and Website Access

The Extension uses the following Chrome permissions and website access:

• storage stores your marker-style and icon-size preferences in Chrome sync storage.
• activeTab is used only after you click Save settings, and only to refresh the active Google Maps tab so your new marker settings appear immediately.
• Google Maps country domains let the Extension redraw markers locally in your browser on Google Maps. Google Maps operates across many google.<country-domain>/maps addresses, so Chrome’s install prompt lists those domains individually. The Extension does not use this access on unrelated pages.

Marker rendering happens locally in the Google Maps tab, using images that Google Maps has already delivered to your browser.

Data Not Collected or Shared

The Extension does not:

• Send data to developer-operated servers
• Collect analytics, telemetry, diagnostics, or usage history
• Include advertising or advertising identifiers
• Create or require a ZAAI account
• Sell, rent, disclose, or otherwise share your data
• Load remote code

Chrome and Google Infrastructure

Your browser communicates with Google Maps as it normally would, and Chrome may synchronize the two Extension preferences through your Google account when Chrome sync is enabled. Those interactions are handled by Google under its own terms and privacy policies. ZAAI does not receive data from Chrome sync or from your use of Google Maps.

Resetting or Deleting Your Settings

You can restore the default preferences at any time with Reset settings in the Extension popup. Uninstalling Clean Google Maps removes the Extension and its local data from that Chrome profile. If Chrome sync is enabled, you can review and delete synchronized browser data through your Google account and Chrome sync controls.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be described in the Extension’s release notes or Chrome Web Store listing where appropriate.
